Seems like all anyone really cares about are pics of Chase… So here are a few. These are from a daytrip to Big Bear. We drove up and grabbed breakfast at the best breakfast place EVER “The Grizzly Manor.” They have pancakes bigger than any you’ve ever seen and hashbrowns that are perfectly crisp every time. After a bite we drove around to see if we could find a patch of snow for Chase to play in. He was tired and fell asleep in teh car just before we got out, so we were a bit worried that he’d be crabby. We eventually settled somewhere in a random neighborhood that had a small little hill and quite an open patch of snow. Chase LOVED walking through the snow, but hated when his little hands froze. When he’d fall he wouldn’t put his hands down to get himself up… He’d just reach up and ask Daddy to pick him up. When we eventually tried to slide on the disk down a little hill. He was scared on the first run, but LOVED it after he realized what was going on. When it was time to go he made multiple attempts at utilizing the “more” symbol, but eventually discovered that it doesn’t work for everything. It was sad telling him that we had to go, but daddy’s feet were soaked and his butt was frozen. Click to view slideshow.

It’s been awhile since last we wrote, but I’m thinking of rekindling the relationship I once had with our family blog. Does anyone still read this thing? Comment below and if anyone does, I’ll keep it going.

Roger’s Gardens

Tonight we decided to take Chase to see all the lights and decorations at Roger’s Gardens. When we got there, he had some immediate “ooohs” and “aaaahs,” but what he found most interesting was the little toy train that was set up. He stood and watched the train circle the trees ten times or so and every time it came around was like a brand new experience. Once we pried him away from the train we were able to show him the rest of the place. He enjoyed running through the tunnel of lights and playing with the windchimes, but I don’t think anything compared to the excitement of the train.

Decorating for Christmas

We decided to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. Normally, we’d have a lot more around the house, but with the little man on the loose, we can’t put certain things within his reach. The first thing we did was put up the tree. Kelly wisely bought unbreakable ornaments and Chase immediately took to testing them out. As soon as I had hung a ball on the tree, Chase decided to pull it off and give it a toss. Sure enough, it didn’t break. After we finished decorating the tree, we noticed that there was a bare spot on the tree that consisted of the entire lower half where Chase could reach. Our tree looks pathetic, but I think we’ve come to terms with the fact that our tree will be a little less amazing until there are no more babies in the house.

Gymnastics Class with Hannah

Because I had the entire week of Thanskgiving off, I was able to make an appearance at Chase’s gymnastics class and take a few pictures. It was nice to see how much fun Chase has running around on all the equipment. Give the kid access to a trampoline, water and some crackers and I think he’d never leave. He bounces and runs at every opportunity and laughs the entire time. He’s not so hot on the whole waiting in line thing… just like mommy!

Catching Up

Didn’t realize how long it’s been since we last posted an update… I’m not sure how much has changed since last we typed. Chase is babbling more and is still as happy as ever. He loves to play with any kind of ball he can find. Golf Balls, Racquetballs, Tennis Balls, Footballs, any ball he can get his mitts on is an immediate favorite. He’s starting to develop a little “rotten” streak as well and he loves to torment Shelby by chasing her or throwing beach balls at her. The boy had also figured out how to use a squirt bottle (and aims directly at mommy which daddy loves) and open screen door latches which nearly lead to him running away, but daddy still runs faster than he can. Below is a video of him walking the dog… One step closer to taking out the trash!

Luceille’s for Dinner

We took the little man out for a good old BBQ dinner at Luceille’s this weekend. It was on of the quietest dinners we’ve had in recent memory. No baby sounds could be heard from our table… Not a peep. Chase was busy the entire time stuffing himself with mac and cheese, corn on the cob, biscuits, ribs, and an occasional yogurt melt. Kelly and I finished our meals before he finished his.
